Details of UKM ImagineCup Participation 2013


ImagineCup participants:

The details are as follows:
Submission: 25/3 (Monday) by 5pm @ PPSK office on a CD
Review by committee: 26/3 (Tuesday)
Video length: Between 7-10 minutes

For those who are going to compete for the Imagine Cup, please include:
1. Brief introduction to group member
2. Problem Statement
3. Data/facts to support problem
4. Solution:
- How it can be integrated with existing Microsoft technologies (.Net, Windows 8, Kinect, Azure, etc)
- The solution (product, software) must address the problem
5. Business feasibility plan (how much it cost, who will use, how many will use, who will maintain, who is the owner, how to generate income (sponsor, sale, advertisement, etc))

Submit preliminary videos for the Malaysia Finals teams selection.

Malaysia Finals teams announcement

Imagine Cup Malaysia 2013 Finals.
• April 15, 2013
Local Finals conclude in participating countries.
Online Finals submission deadline for all countries.
• May 15, 2013
Finalist teams announced at ImagineCup.com.
• July 8-12, 2013
Worldwide Finals in St. Petersburg, Russia.


World Wide Participation Rules
Team members
• at least 16 years of age
• Up to 4 team members.
• Only 1 mentor allowed.
• Currently a student in any IHL.
Submissions
• No resubmission of previous
projects.
• One submission per Online
competition.
• If more then one Online
competition, cannot reuse same
project.


Malaysia Participation Rules
Team members
• at least 16 years of age.
• Up to 4 team members.
• Only 1 mentor allowed.
• Currently a student in any IHL.
• 50% or more team members to
be comprised of Malaysians.
• Max of 1 post-graduate team
member.

• Innovation Competition
• No resubmission of previous
projects.


Innovation Competition (Malaysia)
The Imagine Cup Innovation Competition honors the
most innovative, ground-breaking and appealing
software application built with Microsoft tools and
technology.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Built using Microsoft tools and technologies and for one or
more of the following platforms:
• Windows
• Windows Phone
• Windows Server and/or ASP.NET
• Kinect SDK
• Xbox Indie Games
• .NET Framework
• Windows Azure

• 2nd Place: tbc
• 3rd Place: tbc

Imagine Cup Malaysia Finals
Preliminary Selection
• Preliminary selection of teams by video.
• Each university/college to send representative team
videos.

The Overview Video:
• Submitted as a .WMV file, 250MB max size.
• Video content must clearly address each of the Judging Criteria.
• Language and/or subtitles in English.
• The video must include the Imagine Cup Intro Clip.
• Not exceed ten minutes (including the Imagine Cup Intro Clip).
• App shown must be fully functional and implemented.

Round 1 Presentation

• 10 min presentation

Round 2 Presentation
• Closed door
• 20 min presentation + 10 min Q&A
